The other week, FurtherFood asked me to write an article and share my experience with eliminating sugar from my diet. They are starting a sugar challenge, where they are encouraging their followers to give up sugar in their daily routines and see how much of an impact it has in improving their overall health. Writing an article and sharing my story, was a no-brainer for me and is something very personal that I have dealt with for many years. Detoxing my body from sugar was the first step in improving many of the digestive health issues that I face on a day to day basis; leaky gut, SIBO, IBS, you name it! I remember the exact moment when I realized how much sugar I was actually eating on a day to day basis, I felt as if I had hit rock bottom in the way that I was feeling and no amount of antibiotics, kale salads, green juices, sweaty workout classes, could make me feel better. I realized that sugar was the main culprit and it needed to be eliminated in order to feel my best. My body was rejecting it in all forms and I was learning that I was intolerant to it.
