Sharing with you today my new favorite smoothie combination - almond butter chocolate sweet potato! I have had this everyday on repeat for the last two weeks for either a filing breakfast, an afternoon snack, or even as a hearty dinner smoothie! It is filled with sweet potatoes, frozen bananas, cacao powder, flaxseeds, sprouted oatmeal- all ingredients that are beneficial to you if you are a nursing mama like me!
To give the smoothie an additional boost, I added in one scoop of Love Majka Nourishing Lactation Protein Powder for breastfeeding moms! For this recipe I used the chocolate flavor, but it also comes in Green Vanilla which tastes amazing in green smoothies, mixed in oatmeal, or even my homemade lactation granola bars I shared last month! Adding this in, is optional, but I highly encourage anyone who is nursing that has a low milk supply. I have been using their powders as well as eating their delicious lactation cookies everyday for the last month and I truly do believe it has increased my milk supply, kept my energy levels high and made me feel nourished in general! I often don’t have time during the day to make a complete meal, but being able to add these nourishing powders into any of my snacks, smoothies, or oatmeal makes me feel really good!

Other things that I try and incorporate every single day in my diet are also included in this smoothie as well as help in increasing your milk supply:
nuts (almond butter)
sweet potatoes (even if they aren’t believed to increase your supply they are still a great source of complex carbs, vitamin A, calcium, and iron!
This smoothie is super delicious, creamy, and 100% satisfying - especially if you find that you have a bit of a sweet tooth. It is naturally sweetened with the frozen banana as well as the sweet potato! I find that this smoothie gives me energy and I often make 2-3 servings so I can sip on this in the middle of the night while I am awake breastfeeding, have for a quick dinner when I am too exhausted to make a meal, or have it ready for me the next morning as a healthy breakfast!
I hope you love this as much as I do! Feel free to sub the almond milk and almond butter with a nut free option if you have a nut allergy!
