This cilantro based smoothie is a great way to detox and cleanse the body from heavy metals and harmful toxins, such as lead and mercury. It is a strong flavored herb that is also filled with anti-inflammatory properties, just like the ginger! Combined with the other ingredients this powerful mixture can help restore the acid and alkaline balance in your body.
I love having this smoothie after a night of indulging (alcohol) or when I feel that my gut flora is out of balance.
1 frozen banana
Juice of 1 lime
2 dashes of ginger
1 handful of kale (stems removed)
Half of 1 green apple (or replace with: pineapple (works great!))
1/4 - 1/2 cup of cilantro*
1 tsp. of chlorella
Desired liquid & amount of choice**
*Adjust the cilantro serving to your adjust. Start off small- you can always add but you can't take away!
**I typically use coconut water for this smoothie to replenish any electrolytes and if I am feeling slightly dehydrated.
Add the cilantro, kale, chlorella, ginger, lime juice and liquid of choice to a blender. Blend on high for 2 minutes. Add the frozen banana and apple slices. Blend until mixed completely. Serve!
