This creamy mango banana smoothie is not only an extremely refreshing drink perfect for post exercise hydration but filled with so many health benefits that you will want to incorporate mangoes into your everyday diet!
Mangoes are the perfect fruit! They help fight cancer, alkalize the body, aid in weight loss, regulate diabetes, help clear your skin, and my favorite of all- help digestion! Why? Mangoes contain enzymes that help in breaking down protein. The fibrous nature of mango helps in digestion and elimination. It is is rich in pre-biotic dietary fiber, vitamins and minerals.
So, try this thick smoothie and drink your way to digestive relief!
1 frozen banana
1 cup frozen mango chunks
1/2 cup carrots, chopped
Grated ginger to taste
Handful of ice
Liquid of choice: Examples: 1 cup coconut water, 1 cup of water, or 1 cup nut milk etc.*
Sweetener of choice (optional)*
*For the smoothie above, I used filtered water. Enough to blend the ingredients, but not too much so the smoothie was on the thicker side.
*I did not add any sweetener as I wanted to the smoothie to have more of a tart, ginger taste, and be natural sweet from the mangoes, but feel free to add honey or dates!
Blend together the liquid of choice, ginger, and carrots on high until well combined. Next, add the frozen banana, frozen mango chunks, and ice. Blend on high for 1-2 minutes. Depending on your preference, add more water or liquid to the blender to reach the desired consistency.
